The City of Orchard Grass Hills has a new home online: orchardgrasshills.gov. The multi-page WordPress site went live in July 2026, giving residents a clearer place for announcements, a searchable document library, and an up-to-date city calendar — without asking volunteer city leaders to become website administrators.
Beacon Web designed and built the site and continues to publish updates for the city.
Why a new site
Like many small Kentucky cities, Orchard Grass Hills needed a site residents could actually use — and that city leaders could keep current. The previous site was outdated, and day-to-day work like posting documents and maintaining the calendar was harder than it should have been.
The city had also tried to get the project done with other providers and didn’t get the results they needed. They came to Beacon Web for a practical rebuild: clear structure, modern WordPress, and a path to keep information fresh after launch.
What’s on the new site
Residents can now find:
- A searchable document library — organized so agendas, minutes, and city materials are easier to locate
- A robust calendar — council meetings and city events kept current for the community
- Timely announcements — news and updates in one place on the homepage and announcements section
- Accessibility & trust basics — the site was built with accessibility in mind, and Beacon Web helped the city write its privacy statement and ADA accessibility statement

How updates work now
City leaders don’t have to log in and wrestle with the CMS. They send announcements, documents, and calendar entries to Beacon Web; changes are typically live within 24–48 hours.
That’s the model that fits a city of roughly 1,800 residents: a professional presence online, without adding a second job to the people who already serve the community.
Voices from Orchard Grass Hills
“Our hope is that our website can be a place to locate as much pertinent City information as is possible, including calendar events, documents, contact information and more. I see it growing as needs arise as well.
We had to keep working on this website until we felt it was what we wanted and needed. Earlier attempts left us unsatisfied and somewhat frustrated due to a lot of ‘not knowing what we didn’t know’ issues. It was great to have good solid guidance and support.”
— Doug Lalli, Mayor, City of Orchard Grass Hills
